Jussie Smollett And The Murder Of Emmett Till

by Barry Ferguson
2/18/19

Quick history background. Back in 1955, a 14-year old black teenager named Emmett Till was visiting relatives in a small town in Mississippi. He entered a store owned by a white couple. The white woman in the store was 21-year old Carolyn Bryant. She accused Emmet Till of touching her in a menacing way. The black boy was attacked four days later by a mob of white folks hellbent on revenge. Evidence and truth be damned. The white men savagely beat the young black boy before shooting him in the head and dumping his body, tied with barbed wire, off a bridged into the Tallahatchie River. Emmett’s body was beaten almost beyond recognition yet his mother insisted on an open casket so everyone could see what had happened to her son. What courage this woman must have. As for those of us who have taken the time to learn real history, this terrible miscarriage of justice still leaves a sickening feeling in the stomach some seventy years later.

In later years, Ms. Bryant recanted her story. She made it up at the time. Witnesses offered that young Emmett may have whistled at the white woman. That is all. The young man was beaten and killed by a lynch mob fueled by pure hate.

Today, Jessie Smollett is the gay black actor who has repeated this same vile act. He claimed that two white guys wearing MAGA hats jumped him on the streets of Chicago, doused him with bleach, put a noose around his neck, and beat him as they shouted ‘This is MAGA country’. As always, the media went full throttle anti-Trump. As always, Hollywood celebs piled on with their hate. As always, the democrat leadership piled on with their race-baiting hatred. Two democrats who want to ‘represent’ all of us as the next Presidential election offered their racist hatred. Kamala Harris and Cory Booker practically started rounding up a lynch mob. What else would one expect of their kind?

As truth, and good police investigation, has shown light on this story, it appears that Mr. Smollett made the whole thing up. In fact, he staged this insanity with a couple of other actor friends. They bought the noose. They bought the red hats. Mr. Smollett paid the two friends for their participation. Fortunately in this case, no one was killed.

The Emmett Till story will always repeat as long as this insane hatred for people of differing skin color exists. In 1955, it was a white woman falsely charging a black person with an assault. In 2019, it is a black man falsely accusing two white men of assault. Both accusers are equally racist. There is no difference. In 1955 a lynch mob killed an innocent young man. In 2019 a lynch mob formed to not just try and kill an innocent man but to defame an entire race. This modern day lynch mob formed to condemn a President and all who support him.

Jussie Smollett and Carolyn Bryant have committed the same heinous sin. They both used their own detestable racism in an attempt to foment a racial divide. Those who join them in false accusations are as guilty as any lynch mob. Those who make excuses for them are just as contemptible. Those who took his side as much as fashioned a noose for an innocent man. Isn’t it horrible enough that a young man like Emmett Till lost his life 70 years ago because of racism?

Smollett is a racist. So too are all of his Hollywood, media, and political friends. Senator Feinstein and Senator Waters of California and Senator Hirono of Hawaii have all taken turns fashioning the noose of bigotry. They fomented this mentality by letting Blarney-Ford get away with that ridiculous Kavanaugh theatre. They did so to selfishly advance their cause. They are despicable human beings. Ditto for every pathetic person that voiced their hate toward the imaginary MAGA attackers.

What if a lynch mob had rounded up a couple of innocent white kids and killed them? Would Jussie have intervened with the truth? I doubt it.

What kind of people call Mr. Smollett a ‘friend’? I suspect like-minded racist lynch mob kind of people.

Has a person wearing a MAGA hat ever assaulted anyone?

Is it somehow against the law to have a different political opinion today?

Is it time to officially categorized ‘Trump Derangement Syndrome’ as a psychiatric disorder?

Do liberals like Mr. Smollett think everybody is as stupid as they are and will believe anything as long as it makes President Trump look bad?

Welcome to the real world. I live in the South. Yes I know. The ‘media’ always says ‘racist south’. Yet just the other day, I was exiting a store just as a black gentleman was entering. The other gentleman got to the door before me and opened the door of the store. He said to me, ‘Come ahead, Brother’. I’m a white boy. I accepted his graciousness and courtesy and exited. I responded, ‘Thank you, Sir.’ Two men. Different skin color. Kindness. Courtesy. Respect. We are all just people. I don’t see the racism that the media and the politicians keep harping about.  There are obviously some misunderstandings but a hangman’s noose is not tool to solve anything.

When we stand together we Americans stand on top of world. When we stand together, we might all understand that the American political system as a polluted cesspool of the lowest form of humanity to ever drag knuckles across the Earth. When we stand together we might finally charge that human sewer we call Washington and rid ourselves of the parasites that feed on us. Make no mistake. The human garbage that lined up behind Mr. Smollett and his absurd theatre should not only apologize to the rest of humanity but they should be on their knees begging forgiveness from their Maker. I wonder what Emmett Till would think of Mr. Smollett?
